After reading other people's blogs, I see that I'm not alone in the whole "running around like a chicken..." life. '
Tis the life of a mother of four, or how-ever-many you have! Whew!
Let's see...Camille has been in the spotlight lately. Her choir had the opportunity to be on the news on Friday the 7
th. It was fun for her and crazy for me. The TV station is out in the boondocks (it seemed) and that added to the stress of the morning. I took Lindsey to my friend's house since she's a bit too wiggly to take to a place like a TV studio. Then I picked up Camille
and Everett from school. I didn't think he'd be interested in standing around for an hour. He told me, "Uh, yeah, standing around in a TV STUDIO!" So he came along. It ended up not to be very exciting for him. The parents and siblings were not allowed into the recording studio with the choir. We watched the girls on a big screen
TV in a conference room. We got to meet the daytime news anchor and see a couple of evening news people. The girls were very cute. I took a video clip of their appearance since I didn't have much faith in my
VCR doing its job. I'm glad I did. So, after the
TV appearance, it was back to school for Everett and Camille. Then I picked up Lindsey and visited with my friend for a while. Then home again.
Since it was Friday, aka "Movie Day" at our house, the kids wanted to use their "Book It" coupons to have pizza and a movie. Well, that didn't work out as planned. Claire finally fell asleep just before the kids came home from school. They waited and waited for her to wake up but in the meantime, Lindsey fell asleep. Sigh. Finally, Terry got home from work and I was able to take E & C to Pizza Hut to get their little pizzas. On the way home we remembered that the ward talent show was starting in an hour, so, no movie. Terry stayed home with a sniffling Claire and a bouncing Lindsey while Everett, Camille and I went to the talent show. I think they had more fun at the church activity than they would have at home in front of a movie.
Today's events were equally exhausting. We've been or I've been wanting to get a minivan. Yes, it's been a long time coming. It's amazing that we've waited so long. We went out this morning to see a few that we had seen online. Well, I test drove one and it just seemed to purr. Hm. Long story short--We made a great deal and it's in our driveway tonight! It's a navy blue Toyota Sienna. Now if only the gas weren't so expensive...
Yawn! And on top of it all 3 of us have colds! Again!
Hopefully next week will not be so crazy...except now Everett's class has a musical and he's singing in the chorus.
(he's only singing because the alternative would be performing a solo for his music teacher which would be torcherous for him) They are performing "School House Rock" which should be fun. Everett assures me that it's not fun. But, I think he secretly does like some of the songs. Until then...
